However, in October 2023, tragedy struck, prompting me to take a step back and reflect upon my life’s direction. It was during this introspective period that I made a pivotal decision to showcase my soap-making skills on TikTok. To my surprise, the response was overwhelming, with 26 comments, 48 likes, and an astonishing 1203 views. Encouraged by this positive reception, I resolved to take things a step further. In pursuit of my dreams, I embarked on a journey to visit various companies in Jamaica and officially register my business on January 2, 2024. Yet, as with any endeavor, challenges presented themselves along the way. I encountered difficulties at the tax office, which required me to navigate bureaucratic hurdles. However, undeterred by these obstacles, I persevered and resumed operations on January 6, 2024, with renewed determination.

The process of soap making proved to be not only fulfilling but also surprisingly straightforward. Starting with pre-made block soap that could be cut and melted, I added fragrances and colors before pouring the mixture into molds, resulting in beautifully crafted bars of soap. To source the necessary materials, I relied on trusted suppliers such as Amazon, Earth Element, Pack Mart Team, Eazzy Pack, Sea Moss Queen Ja and E-Pack. Jars and containers for herbs were acquired, allowing me to infuse my creations with nature’s bounty. The aroma of soap and herbs permeated the air, creating a serene ambiance that calmed my mind.

As December approached, I resolved to share my love for soap making with others and decided to experiment with cold process soap, which involved using lye beads instead of heat. Ensuring my safety was paramount, I acquired Google glasses to protect my eyes and donned gloves, a long-sleeved top, pants, shoes, and a head covering to guard against burns and potential mishaps.

On January 2, 2024, I embarked on making my official batch of soap. Carefully combining the lye water solution with the oils, I utilized a stick blender to ensure a thorough mix. The soap came together harmoniously, and within a day, began its curing process. In that moment, a profound sense of peace and satisfaction washed over me, affirming my decision to pursue this business wholeheartedly. Eager to expand, I wasted no time in ordering more molds, updating my website, and promoting my products on social media until every detail was perfected.

The second week of January 2, 2024, marked a significant milestone for me. I completely sold out of my soap, prompting the temporary closure of Sparkles Bundle of Joy Cosmetics. Determined to improve further, I made sacrifices to enhance my photography skills and refine my product listings, all while honing the aesthetics of my brand. These meticulous preparations were in anticipation of the grand reopening, which took place on February 1, 2024. As I look back, I am immensely grateful for the unwavering support I received from platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. It is with immense joy and gratitude that I celebrate the success of my business, confident that there are even greater achievements on the horizon.
